In addition to my academic work, I am a musical artist with a number of international releases with various bands and have toured throughout North America and Europe. My hobbies include reading widely on topics outside my areas of academic expertise (which is the history of the modern Middle East), traveling, practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and "playing cars" with my 2-year-old son.
