Experience
A little bit of one-on-one time can really make all the difference. I've taught organic chemistry I and II at USC for 5 consecutive years, lab and lecture. I recently graduated with my Ph.D. in chemistry so this material is still very fresh in my mind. I've lead my own discussion sessions, held review sessions, made study sheets, one on one tutoring, and vetting and grading exams. I've received great reviews from students and professors. My favorites are office hours where I can really explain in detail what's going on. I really enjoy teaching and seeing my students do better and gain confidence. I wasn't great at organic chemistry when I first took it in undergrad and had a lot of trouble grasping it, especially picturing things in space. I completely understand the frustration of how different ochem is from other subjects. That's why I'm good at explanations from various directions to see what works for you.
