Experience
I am an enthusiastic educator who enjoys working with intellectually curious young adults. I have taught and mentored over 200 undergraduates at UC Berkeley in the subjects of political economy, Asian history, and world history. During that time, I also worked closely with students to improve their writing skills and to help them effectively position themselves for academic and professional advancement. Beyond the university setting, I have worked with colleagues at the High Museum of Art (Atlanta) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York) to design educational materials related to American folk art and to Chinese art. For me, tutoring offers an exciting opportunity to apply the pedagogical practices I have learned in university and museum contexts, as well as my expertise in history, art history, and Asian studies, to help students understand, interpret, and challenge ideas within these fields of study. I look forward to the discourse that arises as we jointly engage the topics covered in the tutoring sessions.
