Experience
Through out my college career I have been working with students. I have been a tutor for three of my four years here. I have worked with different diverse group of students and coworkers, and because of this I have learned how to interact with different attitudes and personalities. I have a lot of experience with children since my organizations philanthropy is Isla Vista Youth Projects. IVYP basically requires after school tutors and one week per month I volunteered and created special events for the students. Some of the events were holiday banquets such as thanksgiving and Valentines Day. My work experience has given me the skills to interact with children and their families. Being a bilingual Spanish and English speaker, I have many times translated for teachers do to my expert reading, writing, and speaking Spanish. Not only is language on my strengths but I have also worked closely with Microsoft word and excel, since part of my job title required me to create and manage budgets, which required me to use excel. I have gained patience and learn how to have a positive and friendly attitude no matter how hard my day has been. I am currently employed at a charter school where I work from 8 am to 4:15 pm, and I am available any time after that. What I do in this current position is that I help students one on one when they do not understand a subject in math, English, or history. I also create my own lesson plans because after school I tutor students from an hour. I typically go over their math and English homework because that is where they struggle in.

On my free time I really enjoy reading. It helps me relax because I am able to enter a different world and live with the characters. I also enjoy hiking. I think nature is beautiful and it is a good stress reliever to just enjoy the simple things in life.
