EducationLoyola Marymount University - Bachelors, Communication Studies
ExperienceI attended Loyola Marymount University for my bachelor's degree in communication studies, graduating magna cum laude. I've been working as a substitute teacher for the past year at the K - 12 level. My tutoring experience includes helping college students become better writers and working with third grade through high school senior students. My tutoring specialties are writing, English, and resumes. I enjoy tutoring because it is my chance to have a positive effect on a student's life. In substitute teaching, it's rare that I get to spend time working with a student individually and focusing on their needs. When students have the opportunity for one-on-one attention, they can get more done, learn more effectively, and explore more things. I am patient and persistent, and I like to have fun too. Ultimately, I want to help students reach their goals. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, acting, singing, reading, drawing, spending time with my pets, eating good food, watching movies, and baking.
HobbiesBesides my passion for education, I also enjoy drawing, reading, singing, acting, hiking, and cuddling my cat and bunny. My favorite food is chocolate or anything smothered in chocolate. I have been a vegetarian for over seven years-- a decision which stemmed from my love for animals. I am obsessed with Star Wars, Batman, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, and Alice in Wonderland. I love to bake cookies, and am very interested in learning how to make macaroons.
