Private tutor in Los Angeles, CA

Education

Bachelors of Science in economics, Duke University, Minor in Political Science. (2015)

Experience

Have tutored students independently for the past decade from the middle school level through the college level. I am very friendly and patient, and like to tutor in such a manner that the individual I am tutoring not only gets the right answer but learns the process so that he or she can apply that learning to future problems. It's all about concepts. I also have experience making lesson plans if your student wants some additional challenge or assistance outside of class material. Have taken many APs (4s or 5s, ask me) I got an 2280 on my SAT, 232 on my PSAT (national merit scholar) both tests I got perfect scores on the reading section. I have a math-based degree but read and write extensively and have won awards for some of my writing, so I am very capable in both quantitative and qualitative subjects. As someone who attended a top 10 university I would also be more than happy to help with college advice and applications.
