Education

I'm a senior at University of Wisconsin-Madison triple majoring in Spanish, English (with a focus on creative writing), and Sociology. My GPA is 3.75. I'm a Los Angeles native and am back here for the summer!

Experience

I have previous tutoring experience as an ESL teacher for students of Spanish and Chinese backgrounds. I have been doing this for about two years now. I lived abroad in Spain last year, and while there I had several families that I tutored privately each week, as well as teaching a classroom of about 15 students once a week. I continued this tutoring during last summer, teaching several families privately in my home city of Los Angeles. During the year, I tutored a sophomore student in Spanish 2. I have tutored students ages 5-16. I love tutoring, it's very rewarding and I very much enjoy the experience of teaching! Additionally, I have worked as an editor at my school to help students improve their essays and creative writing. My main areas of strength are writing (both creative and essay writing), editing, ESL, Literature, and Spanish. As a major in both Spanish and English, I have taken many classes that have improved my knowledge in these subjects greatly, as well as being an editor on my school's creative writing journal. I also lived in Spain for 10 months last year, where I went to school at a Spanish university and greatly improved my skills in that language. In high school, I passed the AP Calculus, English Literature, Spanish, US Government, and Comparative Politics exams. My SAT score was 2160.

Hobbies

I love writing, that's my favorite artistic hobby and pastime (especially poetry). Writing and language are my passions. I love anything outdoors (hiking, biking, exploring, you name it). I also love traveling; while I was abroad last year, I got the opportunity to visit many different countries and it was an amazing experience. My other hobbies and interests include reading, food, spending time with friends and family, and staying active.
