After working as a high school chemistry teacher and tutor, I know with certainty that teaching requires careful consideration of numerous variables and factors. It is never as simple as providing the basic information about a given topic or subject. It is the job of those who teach to not only inform. Rather, it is incumbent upon us to clarify and explain to whatever extent necessary. We should provide compelling and illustrative examples and be willing to answer even the most challenging of questions if it helps our students reach the next level of mastery. I bring these beliefs with me each time I step into a classroom or work with a student privately as a tutor. I primarily tutor in the fields of math and science, including chemistry, physical science, algebra 1 & 2, and pre-algebra. I work with students in these subjects who are in middle school, high school, or college. I know that while I am deeply interested in and about the subject of chemistry and science in general, that isn't true for most of my students. I also know that those students who do not have an innate love of the subject require more encouragement and successful experiences before they are able to master the material. I look forward to providing those experiences for each of the students I tutor.
