Experience
I speak three languages and love teaching a new language to my students. I observe my students and learn how they learn. Each student learns differently and when I discover the style of learning that best fits a given student, I can develop a learning approach that will fit their needs and make the experience enjoyable. I like teaching new students about the Chinese language and culture. I teach English to students who speak Chinese, and Chinese to students who speak English. Tutoring is very rewarding and seeing my student's conversational skills improve makes me feel good. I tutor AP Chinese Language/Culture and Mandarin Chinese 1-4. I attended Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Peking University in Peking, China. I enjoy telling my students about my adventures in Peking. Some students can feel intimidated and nervous when they are struggling to learn a new language. I try to put them at ease and make the learning process fun. Discovering the joy of learning a new language and communicating with new people is a thrill. When I am not teaching or tutoring a new language, I like to watch movies and TV shows, play my ukulele, and paint.
