Sidhi G.

Private tutor in Los Angeles, CA

Education

Bachelor of Science (Neuroscience) from Brown University Class of '14, Sigmi Xi (scientific honor society) inductee, recipient of Brown's prestigious Wayland Prize (for Latin translation), Applied Music Program in Piano (performance-track music program), 1st runner-up Chaminade Festival recipient (piano), BRYTE (Brown Refugee and Youth Tutoring and Enrichment), French House treasurer

Experience

I've professionally tutored high schoolers for the ACT, SAT, and SAT subject tests for 2 years, working with major test prep companies such as Veritas Prep and Revolution Prep. I scored 99th percentile across the board on both the SAT and ACT. I got a perfect 800 on the SAT Latin and French Subject Tests, and 5's (highest score possible) on AP Calculus BC, AP Physics B, AP French, and AP Latin (x2). Tutoring success stories include test-takers who had previously taken the ACT multiple times raising their scores by a full 6 points after my class. Previous SAT students haven't reported back exact improvements, but their reviews on Yelp say enough.

Hobbies

I've played the piano for 18 years (classical) and design my own beaded jewelry. I used to be a competitive figure skater before a recent foot surgery. I moved to LA to pursue acting and am also taking UCLA extension classes to fulfill a few prerequisites I have left for dental school. I really, really like cooking. A lot of girls say this, but I am actually obsessed with finding and inventing new recipes. I'm basically pescetarian (fish + vegetables), but not because I'm Indian (people ask me this all the time). I recently participated in (and was named one of the Top 10 for) Miss India America, with the sole goal of eating as much free Indian food as possible in the participants' lounge. Did I mention I like Indian food? I love classic Russian and French literature and can't understand why people don't read anything but memes and BuzzFeed quizzes anymore. My favorite book ever is The Count of Monte Cristo, which I have read five times unabridged. The Shawshank Redemption (which was based on it) just doesn't do Dumas justice.
