Experience

I previously tutored middle school students while working on my BA. The bulk of my work was with special needs students whom I tutored in algebra, reading, mythology, and English. My background is predominantly in theatre and performance. I have a strong background in theatre ranging from Jacobean and Elizabethan to modern works and I have been performing since I was five years old. While working on my BA I was also on my school's competitive speech team. During my first year there we placed in the top 20 teams in the nation, the first time the school had ever been ranked so high. Though I currently reside in Los Angeles, I have been lucky enough to work at places including Radio City Music Hall and at shows including Spider-Man Turn off The Dark and Avenue Q, both of which were on Broadway. I am interested in tutoring because I have a wealth of experience in theatre and creative writing and love working with youth. I come from a long line of teachers and an appreciation of the "family business" seems to have rubbed off on me.

Hobbies

In my free time I love to go to the theatre and to travel. I have backpacked solo all across Europe and have been to sixteen countries so far (not including my two years living in England). I love to read and see a great deal of value in books from all across the literature spectrum. My favourite books include Jane Eyre; Narrative of the Live of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave; Good Omens; the Harry Potter series; and Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. I also enjoy knitting and cooking.
