Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois, where I paid my way through school by competing in writing contests and teaching a global studies class. I also earned a Rhodes Scholarship nomination. Following college, I moved out to the Los Angeles area, where I have spent most of my time teaching and working on creative projects. I have been working as a teacher, both formally and informally, for more than 10 years. I have assisted students in essay writing, which I would consider my specialty, and also have extensive experience helping students as they prepare for standardized exams like the ACT, SAT, and PSAT. Additionally, I am comfortable tutoring everything from French to Statistics to Math subjects like Algebra and Geometry. With my help, students have earned their way into many unique positions in varying fields, including being admitted into very prestigious medical and engineering programs. Throughout my teaching experience, I have realized that fun and adventure can be found anywhere, including in the lessons and books that we often feel forced to read. In my free time, I enjoy staying active by running, surfing, and playing dodgeball, as well as traveling, reading, and writing.
