Experience
A Minnesota native, I have lived in Los Angeles for the past eight years. In 2014 I received my Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from UCLA with a specialty in American, Russian, and world literatures, as well as writing pedagogy. I currently teach part-time at both UCLA and LMU in Los Angeles. I have eight years of experience teaching world literature and expository writing at the university level, and three years of experience tutoring high school students in a range of subject areas, including reading, writing, and literature. I am thus able to cater to your level and needs, and I know how to prepare you not just for the level you are at but for the level to which you aspire. I am a passionate and patient teacher. I push my students to realize their full potential, and I enjoy the sense of empowerment they gain from becoming capable and proficient writers, readers, and critical thinkers. I have spent a good deal of time studying and living in Russia, and I speak Russian fluently. Feel free to contact me to schedule a free 1-hour consultation.
