Stanford University, BA in English/Creative Writing (GPA 3.68/4.0) University of Hawaii, MA, ESL. (GPA 4.0/4.0) University of Southern California, Doctorate (EdD) in Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, Expected 5/2022

Experience

My Experience includes almost 20 years of teaching writing and English at the university level. I have taught international students, American students, ESL, undergraduate and graduate students. I have tutored 4th and 5th grade children as well as adults. I have worked with a high school student on an extensive novel for over 5 years as she developed and revised and extended it. She is now a university student and still works with me on creative work. I love teaching and helping students succeed in their goals and love doing it, too! I like to use creativity in my teaching approaches and believe that if a student is motivated by me then the learning is pleasurable. I work with students' school needs and also try to come up with a new way to make the subjects interesting. I have raised two children who went on to graduate from Art School and Law School, so i have worked with the development of children in my own life. My teaching has focused on teaching writing both to international students with a variety of majors, including science and engineering, to creative writers.
