Hobbies

I have been tutoring for nearly ten years - since I received my undergraduate degree. Since then I have worked through two Master's degrees (Zoology and Education), and have published three papers in stress physiology. For the past five years I have been a language editor at the Central European Journal of Biology as well as at DeGruyter Publishing, where my most recent credit is the Textbook of Cortical Brain Stimulation. I am currently a dental student at USC. I continue to tutor because I remember my own experiences learning at every level; there were times I struggled with difficult concepts, and other times I couldn't get extra information fast enough. My own tutors and mentors were key to my success. My teaching style combines my background in both science and education, and focuses on having students internalize concepts in an individual way. Learning is a process that works best when the learner is personally invested and when they have someone knowledgeable to talk with. I spend the time getting to know my students and understanding what makes them interested. I play soccer, tennis, guitar, and piano. I read voraciously, everything from historical biographies to recent bestsellers. I also speak French, Spanish, and Korean with working-level fluency.
