I am a fluent Mandarin speaker, having studied in three of the most highly renowned Mandarin studies programs in China: -Inter-University Program (IUP) at Tsinghua University in Beijing, 2013-14 -IES Language Intensive Program at Beijing Foreign Studies University, 2011-12 -US State Department Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) at Suzhou University, 2013 Summer I tutor Chinese at various levels, from basic street interactions to high level political and business terminology and grammar. I have over three years experience living in China, including with a Chinese family for a year, and have lived in multiple cities throughout the country.

I am passionate about Americans studying Chinese language and culture, enabling the West to better access and understand the richness and depth of China's history, culture, and modern economic rise. I have several years of experience teaching English-speakers Chinese, as well as Chinese-speakers English. In the 21st century, no skill in more invaluable than speaking a foreign language--and no language is more important for Westerners to study than Mandarin. I take great pleasure in helping students achieve these goals and hope to serve you in beginning or expanding your Mandarin fluency!
