Experience
I hold two bachelor's degrees from the University of Denver: one in English with a focus on Creative Writing, and the other in Art History. I graduated cum laude with University Honors and Distinction in English for my English degree, and also received a highly coveted scholarship in creative writing during my sophomore year. I earned my master's degree in Secondary English Education from the University of Denver as well. During my post-secondary education, I have served as a middle school and high school apprentice teacher in English, Literacy, Honors World Literature, and College Prep. I have also served as a reading, writing, and literacy tutor. I am able to tutor students of all ages and abilities in a variety of classes, including reading, writing, literature, American and European history, and preparation for the ACT, ACCUPLACER, GRE, GMAT, and SAT. As a tutor, I enjoy helping my students build a strong foundation from which they can build increasingly advanced skills. I create learning environments that encourage experimentation and discovery, and tailor my teaching style to meet their needs and help them achieve their academic goals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, dancing, practicing yoga, hiking, and making art of all kinds!
