Experience
I have been immersed in the French language for many years, due to my love of the culture. I have both a bachelor's and a master's degree in French from Illinois State University. While I was attending school for graduate studies, I acted as a teaching assistant for a French professor. In the summertime, I worked at a camp that taught the language. I studied in France while in college, and I have also lived in France on my own for a year, where I taught English classes to French students. So, my experience is on both sides of the spectrum. The ages I have worked with range widely. The reason I have chosen to become a tutor is that I feel the one-on-one approach is more conducive to effective learning than large classroom instruction.My favorite way to teach is to get the students participating. Simply hearing the material doesn't do the trick. I make fun out of it, with games and activities that help everyone retain information. Aside from language, I take part in many hobbies. I have a second bachelor's degree in Theater, so I am quite active in performing arts. I enjoy singing or anything to do with music, really. I am always looking for a new adventure!
