Experience

During my high school summers, I volunteered in lower grade-level classrooms at the local elementary school. Throughout my high school years, I was in Libra and Leo volunteer clubs, choir, track and field, and cross-country. I was a senior mentor in Link Crew in high school, assisting freshman with anything that they needed during their introduction to our high school. I worked at Isla Vista Youth Projects After School Program while attending University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduating from college, I worked as a Special Needs Instructional Assistant for students that had mental/physical/learning disabilities at various elementary and middle schools for Vista Unified School District. I also worked for the Middle School Department of the After School Program at City of Fontana. In addition, I have always helped my younger brothers with school, and also my niece and nephew. I come from a very large family- being the first child born of my grandparents' children on both my mother's and my father's sides. My grandparents, aunts, uncles, and parents, have always made an example of me to my siblings and cousins. Being able to focus despite a lot of noise and distractions comes easily to me. I am also really good at multi-tasking. I am very patient, empathetic, and thorough. Catering to each student that I tutor would not be a problem for me whatsoever, since I am extremely detail-oriented and I learn the best this way myself. I have an undeniable amount of energy to devote to my students, as well as creativity and encouragement. I am a fantastic tutor because I stop at nothing until my students understand their subjects in a method that is tailored exactly for them, working off of their natural talents and abilities. I am also fluent in Spanish. As a tutor, I will utilize all of the skills that I have acquired from being in the workforce since I was sixteen. I am a versatile individual that has worked during high school, and college, in the restaurant industry, local and federal government, and even as a supervisor at Los Angeles International Airport. When I begin something, I will not stop until I am completely done with it. I give my total attention to whatever task that I begin in order to produce the absolute utmost result. The same approach is put into place when I tutor a student; their success is my success, my goal.
