I have a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University. Here, I focused on theater studies education. I also took classes in directing and acting. I have a wide range of experience serving as a mentor and tutor to students while in high school. I worked with students in elementary level through high school, helping them with many subjects. My favorite topics to help students with are literature, English, and French. I've lived abroad in France, so I connect well to the language and culture. I also feel that literature and English tie in well to my passion for theater.I switch up my teaching style based on the needs of each student that I work with. I like to put myself in the student's shoes to truly understand the problems that they're dealing with. I work to problem-solve until I find a way to properly present the material at hand. I don't just focus on teaching the current material, but I also work to find ways to make sure each student understands the lesson's value and relation to everyday life skills. When I'm not helping students learn, you can find me swimming, singing at acting classes, or trying new foods at local restaurants.
