I have worked for several years as a mentor to other college students and tutoring high school students for their SAT exam. I love tutoring students in a variety of subjects but especially enjoy those that revolve around reading and writing. I find it exhilarating to show students the power of language and how it gives them the ability to effectively communicate their ideas, fears, beliefs, hopes, and dreams with others. I also enjoy helping students prepare for a variety of standardized exams such as the SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE. I truly believe that all students deserve the opportunity to find academic success. To do this, however, they often need to find someone who can help them maximize their strengths and encourage them to improve in those areas they have found more challenging. As a tutor I find this to be one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I work with each student to discover their unique learning style, strengths, weaknesses, goals, and personal interests in order to better create individualized lesson plans to help them reach their potential. I endeavor to share my passion for knowledge and genuine curiosity about the world around me with all of my students.
