EducationUC Berkeley - BA, English Literature
ExperienceI am currently a student working towards receiving my Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley with a major in English Literature and a minor in French.I find that my favorite areas of literature are the 19th and 20th century American fiction. Some of my favorite authors have been very consistent throughout the years and they include Richard Wright, Ernest Hemingway, and William Faulkner. Of course, I also have a love for studying mechanics and grammar. I also enjoy the small changes in the meaning of text from something so simple as a change in the placement of a comma. After completing my degree at Cal, I would like to enroll in law school so that I can someday work in the judicial system, as well as the penal system. I did work as a tutor in the LA area for over two years before enrolling in Berkeley. It was during this time that I worked with many students on an individual basis, as well as in the more traditional classroom setting. I taught an SAT prep class, as well as tutored in the local high school's AVID program. I can also tutor French and really enjoy it as it is an artful and beautiful language. Of course, with all subjects that I tutor in, I always strive to help the students realize just how easily they can understand the current material when they are given the best strategy to work with.
