Experience
I live in Los Angeles, California, and I began tutoring in 2013 in subjects such as algebra 1, history, writing, and chemistry. However, there are also many other subjects that I have tutoring expertise in, including economics, English, middle school math, study skills and organization, executive functioning, sociology, government, world history, ISEE, the and PSAT. As a tutor, I like being honest and open with my students. So that I can effectively help students, my tutoring approach entails discovering their strong and weak points. When tutoring a student, I try to gauge his particular personality, and I tend to structure a session around it. For me, this has proven to be a more efficient way of tutoring students. I attended New York University for undergraduate studies, receiving a sociology degree. I went on to do graduate work at Rutgers University, where I earned an MS degree in global affairs. My thesis, which was 100 pages in length, was on the topic of how ethics apply in counterinsurgency campaigns. My work experience includes working at non-profit organizations from 2009 through 2013. In my spare time, I enjoy writing and performing music, being a writer for the Examiner on the subject of crimes in LA, and going to movies.
