For me, I find that individualized help sessions that are tailored to a student's ability and pace while building a connection with the student is very important. School work and class time provides a basis for the upcoming and necessary materials, but after that, homework and other assignments are basically just a free for all. Some students do well, others need that extra help, and I always make sure to change my strategies and materials based on the student's needs. Not everyone is the same and thus every session must be different between students. I greatly enjoy tutoring because I love knowing that I can help appease some fears about succeeding, especially for students that are getting ready for college admissions. I try to make my students feel comfortable so that they always ask questions and no stone is left unturned. My previous experiences in the college admissions process, along with my experiences as a tutor has left me well prepared for almost any type of student.
