How can I help take your reading, writing, and study skills to the next level? Everyone gets stuck--whether you are putting your first sentences together or finishing your fifth book. You're looking for someone experienced, trustworthy, and insightful to help identify the missing pieces and teach the next step. I've been doing just that for 15 years as a student-centered educator. My experience includes 10 years of professional tutoring in all subjects, and 4 years as a classroom teacher in Writing and Art. As a middle school teacher, I have developed all my own curriculum and I differentiate to reach each student. I have cultivated writing fluency with ESL learners, students working ahead of their grade level, and students with attention disorders, Dyslexia, and alternative learning styles. I also served as the Assistant Director of a Writing Center at the college level, where I worked one-on-one with students from all disciplines, managed curriculum for the center, and I mastered the art of making a big impact in a short amount of time. My impact as a tutor comes from more than my experience: we will work together to understand where you are in the writing or reading process, and then I teach personalized strategies to overcome your block or learn the next skill. Hobbies
I believe we can learn as much from play as from work. I play outdoors on mountain trails, in my art practice, and every time I decide to rearrange my furniture. I trained in Classical Ballet for 15 years, and now dance teaches me to turn mistakes into magic. Dance breaks in between learning sessions are encouraged!
