B.A in History of Art at UC Berkeley Have completed majority of Pre-Med prerequisites at UC Berkeley

Experience

I graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A in History of Art. I've completed all of my Pre-med courses; a year of General Chemistry, a year of Biology, a year of Physics, a year of Organic Chemistry and a semester of college-level Biochemistry class and I am now preparing for the MCAT to apply to a medical school. I took Math through all four years of high school, took college-level Calculus 1 and 2. I have tutored since High School as my part-time job, helping students struggling with math and history. I also tutored during my college career; in which I tutored high school level French and college level Algebra. I was also on the Peer Tutoring Team at my high school and helped students before and after school. I got 4s on AP US History, AP European History, and AP Biology. I continue to tutor since graduating from college while preparing for the MCAT. Currently, I tutor subjects ranging from Kinder/elementary school English and Math, General Chemistry (High school and college), Algebra I and II, Korean, ESL, and English. I have a wide range of clientele but I can usually work around your schedule. I worked at an after school/test-prep institution for about a year and taught classes for K-3 in various subjects (Science, Math, English, Book club, and creative newspaper making class). I also taught an Algebra class for 6-7th graders. I'm currently taking a break from the job to prepare for the MCAT. But I have time to spare for some private one-on-one sessions or small groups of book club for Kinder to 2nd graders. Rates: Kindergarten/elementary school student tutoring: Due to the attention span of the kids, I tutor them for 45 to 50 minutes. Please keep this in mind and I charge $30 per lesson (per hour). Depending on the student, if an hour is possible, I will do an hour. I usually push to an hour if the student is willing, so the 45-50 minute rule does not apply to all students. High school students: $30/hr Adult learners: $30/hr Group sessions: Group sessions need more preparing and I charge more for group lessons, however, each person will pay at a discounted rate. For example, for a 45-50 minute sessions/hour session for two kinder or lower grade elementary school students (K-2), you will be paying $25 each per person. (Which amounts to $50 for two students per lesson) Group sessions vary with age and number of persons in the group. Please let me know what kind of age group I would be working with and we can discuss the hourly rate accordingly. Please do not cancel on the day of. I do charge for canceling last minute. If we had set up to meet, that means I have also reserved that time frame just for you. It causes inconvenience for me. I DO NOT TUTOR or PREP FOR MCAT. I DO NOT WRITE ESSAYS IN ITS ENTIRETY FOR A STUDENT BECAUSE THAT IS PLAGIARISM AND AGAINST THE HONOR CODE IN ACADEMICS. I WILL NOT REPLY TO THESE REQUESTS, REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH MONEY YOU OFFER. THANK YOU.

Hobbies

When I do have the time, I love to draw and paint. I'm an aspiring artist. I love all sorts of music, except for country. I've been to many different countries (I love traveling!) and attended different schools in different countries like Korea, Switzerland and here in California. I have great connection with the kids and my work experience at an after school/test prep have developed skills to better pinpoint problematic habits of students. I can work to foster their strengths to become a better student. Last updated March, 2015
