Experience

I studied economics a Princeton, I know firsthand what it's like to struggle to learn new things. Learning can be challenging, but working through learning obstacles is very rewarding. Students who can overcome learning challenges become confident in their abilities and are motivated to learn more. This is my goal for my students as a tutor. My philosophy as a tutor is to help students become independent learners. I work alongside my students to identify where they trip up in learning, and I clarify concepts for them along the way. Ultimately, my goal is to help students develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, along with test taking skills, so that they can become self-sufficient learners. I can tutor students in reading, writing, essays, literature, math, science, geography, social studies, Spanish, and English. I can also help students prepare for the ACT, PSAT, SAT, and others, or I can help students refine college applications essays. In my free time, I like to read, run, swim, write, backpack, and dance. I also enjoy the theater.
