Experience
I graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in English and Bioengineering and from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering. At Caltech, I was the student body Vice President from 2009 to 2010. At CMU, I served as a teaching assistant and won awards for my work. I have been tutoring both professionally and privately for several years. I've also worked in food service and as a tour guide, positions which improved my ability to communicate with others. Although science and math are my primary passions, I have experience tutoring a variety of other subjects, like literature and English. I'm also competent in helping students prepare for taking standardized tests, such as the PSAT, SAT, GRE, and ACT, as well as assisting students with writing college admissions essays. I have experience working with students of all ages, from elementary schoolers through post-graduate students. My tutoring technique involves discovering how each one of my students learns best, and tailoring my lessons to their needs. I try to convey my pride and satisfaction when students work hard. The reward, of course, is mastery of the material.In my spare time, I enjoy listening to comedy, ballet and bhangra dancing, and creating all types of art.
