I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Educational Psychology, as well as my Education Specialist (Ed.S.) Degree and California Pupil Personnel Services Credential (CPPS) in School Psychology at Loyola Marymount University. I graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies.
Experience
I'm currently an Instructional Aide providing support to the teacher and students in a second grade public school classroom. I was a tutor for student athletes in college, as well as for elementary and middle school-aged children. I have primarily provided help in college-level writing and elementary reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and math, but have experience in general middle and high school curriculum as well. I also have experience providing instruction on study and testing tips. I have taken and passed the exams for AP English (both Literature and Composition), AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP American History. In terms of education coursework, I have taken classes on Instruction & Learning, Academic Assessment & Intervention, Theories of Growing and Learning, Developmental Psychology, Research Methodologies, and Neuroscience. A major focus of my graduate studies is on helping students to learn and educators to teach. I know how important it is to make lessons as creative and engaging as possible! I also understand the need to adjust for the individual student and subject at times, while always being persistent and building confidence.

When not working or studying, I like to go for runs and walks outside, spend time with my friends and boyfriend, and eat great food, (especially Asian cuisine)! I occasionally find time to fit in a book for fun -- I like mysteries, historical fiction, fantasy, and the occasional nonfiction read -- or a TV show -- I love Game of Thrones, Gilmore Girls, This Is Us, and Grey's Anatomy (season 10 or earlier). On my school breaks, I love to travel! I've been to over 15 countries and studied abroad in Italy during undergrad. I'm a normal person who likes to work with nice students.
