Hobbies

A GEEK FOR ALL SEASONS I am a big fan of musical theater. I love middle grade and young adult fiction, and I read several books a week. In ninth grade, I was that crazy kid who loved diagramming sentences. In college I was the music director of an all-female a capella singing group. I love movies, every genre, from avant-garde film to gonzo superhero blockbuster to costume drama. I am a Star Wars, Dr. Who, and Star Trek geek. At Disney, I was a member of the Disney Choir, the Disney Triathlon Team (raising money for Children’s Hospital LA), and did the Team Disney MS bike ride in Orange County and Los Angeles County for several years, raising money to fight MS. I ran the Tinker Bell half marathon four years in a row, (although two years of working on my novels in my spare time has softened up my physique, unfortunately). I used to bike to work twice a week, and I follow the Tour de France avidly every year. I have a passion for history, and I adore everything about Italy and France. I love travel, especially to Europe. I learned to snowboard in my forties, and if I could afford it, I’d own an apartment in Mammoth. As a kid my favorite books were Fantasy and Science Fiction. I have gone to Comic-Con 5 times and I'm excited to go again this summer!
