I was selected by The Sundance Institute as a Writing/Directing Fellow for my screenplay 3AM where I studied under great screenwriters including the late Frank Pierson and Richard LaGravenese. I am a Variety Top Ten Screenwriter Finalist; I earned two Black Reel nominations including Best Director for 3AM; My film Mother Of The Week just earned an Audience Award at 2015 NEFF, and Breakout Performance by Actress at the same festival; I won Best Documentary for Romance Is Served at 2009 Belize Film Festival I have served as a Screenwriting Advisor at the Oaxaca (formerly Sundance) Screenwriters Lab in Mexico. From 2010-2015 I have served as Film Instructor at The Bill Duke Media Bootcamp 2006-2015 I have served as a Director/Screenwriter Mentor for the Inner City Filmmakers program which has been in existence for nearly twenty years. 2013 I established The Lee Davis Film Workshop at The Manchester Academy 2010-2012 I was a Film Instructor at View Park Preparatory High School in Crenshaw. 2008 I served as Film Instructor at Fernando Pullum Remedee Film Program 2006-2007 I was the Director of the Inner City Filmmakers, Summer Program at prestigious USC.

I love movies, books, basketball, jazz and contemporary music. I love to teach about the history of film, the great movies of yesteryear and recontextualize them for new audiences of today.
