Hi! I graduated from Mt. San Antonio Community College (Mt. SAC) with a 3.7 GPA and an AA in English. From there, I transferred to UCLA, and in 2012, received by B.A. in English and a 3.5 GPA; right now, I'm in an M.A. program at Cal Poly Pomona with a cumulative GPA of 3.8. My major has always been English with an emphasis on Literature and Writing.

Experience

Ever since I started Mt. SAC in 2008, I began working as a tutor on campus. For two and a half years, I developed my skills teaching all levels of English offered at the college, from Eng67, basic writing skills, to Eng1C, Critical Thinking and Composition. When I transferred to UCLA in 2010, I began working with kids on campus at the Early Education and Care Center. In my classroom of 3-5 year olds, I learned how to help them develop fine motor skills, basic math concepts, and interpersonal growth skills. Upon graduation in 2012, I continued working with young people and adults at the Lindamood Bell Learning Processes Center, but this time, I developed another set of skills: working with dyslexic, autistic, and hyperactive students. Through a set of cognitive-based processes, I taught children, young adults, and adults how to read and process basic stories, textbooks, and fiction. From Lindamood Bell, I then began working at Chaffey College in 2014 at the Success Center. This job was much like my Mt. SAC one in the way that I helped college students improve their own reading and writing skills. I also began doing copy editing; now, I work for a standardized test prep center helping high school students understand and score highly on the SAT and ACT.

Hobbies

Writing is not only my job, it's my hobby! In my spare time, I write short stories and poetry. In fact, I have had dozens of poems and short stories published in local publications, and I even have been published by Cornell University's literary journal! I love playing around with language and making up stories. I also enjoy spending time cooking with my friends and hiking.
