English and TOEFL teacher in South Korea for two years. Private tutor in Los Angeles since July 2014. I have experience, whether as a teacher or a student, in academic settings of all types. My parents have both earned master's degrees, and currently work in higher education. My father is a professor and my mother is the deputy legal counsel for the university. I went to public elementary school in Oklahoma, then public middle and high school in Michigan. I went to an Ivy League institution for college. I have taught abroad, working with some of the hardest working students I have ever encountered. I use this experience to relate to students and present the material in a way they can understand. I am currently completing a creative writing program at UCLA.

Hobbies
I played football at Columbia, and I am more than happy to talk sports, as well as the importance of education in relation. I was a jock growing up, playing three sports in high school and even more when I was younger. I know more than a few men and women who strived to become professional athletes in their sports. Some made it; most didn't. Having my career cut short by a knee injury, I stand as an example of how education can carry someone a lot further than athletics, and I don't take that responsibility lightly. I am a film lover. Action, romance, drama, horror; I love them all. I am hoping to one day write movies for a living. But until that day, I am more than happy to share the knowledge I have accrued over the years with others. Other things I love are food, music, books, and sunshine.
