I have a passion for both creativity and community. From gardening and bicycling to writing and music, I have a diverse range of skills that bring people together through my art. Not only do I believe that art fosters togetherness, I also impart that wisdom to my tutoring students. My focus is on music, but with a master's in Teaching from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor's in Music from Pomona College, I can show students how music and learning work together. Through this, I hope to help them love education. I have experience tutoring elementary school students in general subjects, including as a student teacher in classrooms. I have also taught music to young people through Youth Orchestra Los Angeles. Although I enjoy teaching children, I know that sometimes adults need tutoring help for higher degrees or continuing education, and I am glad to help them with an individualized approach to learning. I believe that experience is the best way to learn, whether the student and I are playing music together, working on a difficult homework assignment, or re-writing a personal essay.
