Education

University of California, San Diego - BS, Physiology and Neuroscience

Experience

I went to UC - San Diego, where I earned a bachelor's degree in physiology and neuroscience. Also I graduated with honors as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. I love the sciences, and in particular biology and chemistry. I love to learn, and I'm enthusiastic discuss in these topics, which helps my students gain enthusiasm in these topics as well. I can teach biology and chemistry up through college level. I'm also very strong in algebra, biochemistry, and physics. I had the opportunity to work as a TA for biology professors at UC - San Diego. As a tutor, I'm adept at modifying my approach to match the needs of each individual student that I work with. I understand the subjects I tutor from both of perspective of being a student and of being an educator, and I've identified many effective strategies that I can share with students to help them achieve success. When I tutor students, I don't just want them to understand material, but I also want them to develop the skills to learn effectively on their own. I also believe learning should be fun, and I incorporate activities and my sense of humor to keep students focused. When I have free time, I enjoy exercise, basketball, racquetball, and eating good food. I'm looking forward to medical school in the future and I'm looking forward to helping you succeed.
