ExperienceHaving graduated from UCI with a ranking among the top 5% of all graduating seniors (and having ranked in the top 1% in high school), I know the type of study skills and hard work it takes to succeed in a wide array of classes. With over 8 years of individualized private and group tutoring, I am comfortable with addressing student's study needs and guiding students towards comprehensive and in-depth understanding of their course materials. My teaching style is to use real life applications and fun analogies to aid students in understanding their class materials.
Private Tutor (2007 - present)
I tutored high school and college students in a wide array of science and math courses including: AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, Algebra 2, Honors Precalculus, and college-level Honors General Chemistry. My high school students usually came from the Huntington Beach Unified High School District, the Irvine Unified High School District, and neighboring areas.
Learning and Academic Resource Center Tutor (2009-present)
I provided guidance for hundreds of UCI students to excel in their Humanities Core, General Chemistry, Physics, and Biology courses. I tutored small groups of students twice a week and created course-specific review worksheets for each tutorial. I adjusted each tutorial's pace to meet the student's needs and never let students leave tutorials with unanswered questions. I engaged and trained student to become independent thinker by providing them with vital study strategies and advice.

I attended Edison High School and was ranked 3rd out of a graduating class of over 300 students. During my junior and senior years at Edison, I took six AP courses and passed all AP exams with high scores. The following are my AP scores:
AP Chemistry - Score 4
AP Statistics - Score 4
AP US History - Score 5
AP Biology - Score 5
AP Calculus AB - Score 5
AP Calculus BC - Score 5
AP English Literature - Score 4
AP US Government and Policy - Score 4
AP Physics B - Score 4
AP Spanish Language - Score 4.
From 2008-2012, I attended UCI where I double majored in Chemistry and Neurobiology. Over the past 4 years, I have taken many college courses in chemistry, biology and physics - all of which I have received grades of A and A+. I have studied abroad in England and have led two medical missions to Honduras.
I am an inducted member of the oldest and most prestigious honors society Phi Beta Kappa, the neuroscience honors society Nu Rho Psi, and the chemistry honors society Phi Lambda Upsilon. I was a Regents Scholar, a member of the highly selective Campuswide Honors Program, and was featured in every Dean's Honors List (for the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Physical Sciences) throughout my undergraduate career. During my last two years at UCI, I was awarded the Chancellor's Award of Distinction, the Dean's Award for Excellence in Research, the Adriana's Award for best Drosophila Model Project, and the Jayne Unzelman Scholarship.
