Experience
I developed my passion for tutoring in high school, where my friends would constantly ask for help in math and physics. In college, I gained official teaching experience by becoming an Undergraduate Student Instructor (UGSI) for an introductory Astronomy course during my second year. I concurrently took a graduate-level teaching course that taught me how to teach critical thinking skills, produce effective worksheets, and also engage the students attention. I'd say the best thing about me as a tutor is that I'm passionate about the subjects (math/physics) and I have patience when the student doesn't completely understand. I'll take the extra time to explain all the little details until the student knows the material by heart. I listed some of my relevant qualifications below: Graduate School: MAE 150A (intermediate fluids) - A+ MAE 250C (compressible fluids) - A College: Astronomy 300 - Teaching Pedagogy Course Undergraduate Student Instructor (UGSI) Astronomy C10 - Introduction to Astronomy (sophomore&senior year) Math 53 (Multivariable Calculus) - A+ Math 54 (Linear Alg/Differential Equations) - A- Physics H7ABC (Honors Physics Series) - B+/A-/B+ Physics 137A (Quantum Mechanics I) - A Physics 110A (Electrodynamics I) - A Physics 110B (Electrodynamics II) - A Physics 111 (Semiconductor Circuits Lab) - A Physics 111 (Advanced Physics Lab) - A Physics 137B (Quantum Mechanics II) - B+ Physics 112 (Statistical Mechanics) - A+ Physics 105 (Classical Mechanics) - A- Physics 142 (Plasma Physics) - A+ Astro 161 (Relativistic Cosmology) - A+ Astro 160 (Stellar Physics) - A Astronomy 7A/7B (Introductory Astrophysics) - B+/A High School: AP Calculus AB/BC - 5 AP Calculus AB Student of the Year AP Physics B/C - 5 DBHS Math Club Vice President (09-10) SAT II Math - 800 SAT I Math - 800 IB/HL Math - A+ Calculus BC - A+ Math Analysis/Calc AB - A+ Other qualifications: UCLA Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Departmental Fellowship (2 years) NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Honorable Mention UCBerkeley Regents and Chancellor's Scholarship National Merit Scholarship Finalist SAT: 2250 Science Olympiad (08-10) Science Bowl Varsity Team (09-10) Math Club (06-10) National AP Scholar - 10 APs AP Physics B - 5 AP Physics C - 5 AP Calc AB - 5 AP Calc BC - 5 AP Euro.
