HobbiesHello! Despite the very factual breakdown of this profile, my favorite part of tutoring is forming a relationship with the student I'm working with. A good tutorial session is one that combines laughing with learning. I've been fortunate to have a great education with extremely compassionate and talented teachers and I want everyone to see that-- despite what they may think!-- learning (especially writing) can actually be sort of fun. It's important to me that students understand that, though they may have been taught a particular way their whole lives, there are many ways to learn, research, brainstorm, study, and write, and I'm open to finding what method best fits the particular student I'm working with. I'm very involved with theater and writing tutoring on campus. In college, I was on an improvisational theater group for the past four years and was involved in many student theater and departmental productions. I have completed the full improvisation programs at both UCB and Groundlings in LA. In high school, I was a competitive runner (indoor track, outdoor track, cross country) and ended my senior year being captain. I've held several service jobs and love to get to know the people I work with. I've also worked with ESL students extensively. Please let me know if you have other questions about my interests or qualifications!
